The top news in Rhode Island right now is the RIBridges cyber attack, a massive attack where hackers could have stolen the PII, or Personal Identifiable Information, of hundreds of thousands of people who have received benefits from the state over the last eight years. The investigation is still on-going.

Eric Shorr, President of Secure Future Tech Solutions, was the guest expert on WJAR-TV's afternoon segment with Anchor Leanna Faulk. They discussed what this attack means for residents who have been receiving benefits from the State of Rhode Island.

Eric Shorr addressed the 3 critical steps for those affected to take now:
1. Check your credit for any suspicious activity or unauthorized changes. Go to FreeCreditReport.com<https://freecreditreport.com/>
2. Change your passwords. ALL passwords should be changed across your accounts to be unique, complex passwords. We recommend using a password manager such as Dashlane.com<https://www.dashlane.com/> to store them.
3. Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all your accounts. Microsoft Authenticator and Google Authenticator can be downloaded for free.

At the end of the day, "Ask for help."

What can you do?
