Twitter isn’t all that complicated, and it doesn’t seem like the strategies you use there are going to be very complicated. While that may basically be true, it’s far from the whole truth you need to know about using Twitter properly. Just because you know how to use Twitter doesn’t mean you know how to run your business on it, too. Here are three things you should remember when writing posts for your business that your potential buyers are going to read.

Don’t Use Too Much Abbreviation

Using extensive abbreviation can and will confuse your audience. Since the limit is 140 characters, you may have to abbreviate on occasion, but at least make sure whatever you have to post is actually readable. Keep in line with basic grammar rules and know that ‘hmbr’ will not translate to ‘hamburger’ for everyone.

Spelling Errors

Sometimes errors happen, and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about an error here or there. However, do your best to keep them to a minimum. People will notice them, and if you make them too often, your business page will appear to be run by someone who doesn’t care about neatness. Just remember to review before you hit the send button, and review your basic there/their/they’re differences.

No Strategy, No Tweets

Tweeting just for the sake of Tweeting, or Tweeting because you think that’s what you should be doing, is a bad strategy. In fact, it’s not much of a strategy at all. Instead, take your time to decide why you’re on Twitter in the first place, and what you really want to get from it in the end. Make sure your thoughts on this influence the content you post – every time.
