Some people are natural writers and can write tons of blogs a week without even noticing. You, however, may not feel quite that way about writing. Writing may not come to you like it comes to others, and that’s okay. The majority of people in the world don’t like writing. That doesn’t mean that you can’t still get all of your blog work done every week, however, while keeping a few strategies in mind. Don’t give up on your writing career just yet – check out these tips to see if you can get through it before you hire someone new to do it for you.
Write, Write, Write – Don’t Stop
Some people pause, look at what they wrote, and erase it all. They start a particular paragraph six times over before they are satisfied. Don’t do this. Instead, just keep writing. Pause to correct obvious mistakes, but otherwise, just keep going. The point is to have enough raw material to go back in edit (because it’s likely you’ll cut a significant amount when you go back). Don’t write until you don’t have any ideas left to write about. This even means you should just put question marks in place of information you don’t know so you can look it up later. Don’t get distracted. Just keep going.
Set an Amount of Time, Then Write
Instead of writing until you can’t feel your fingers, or half-writing, half-Facebooking, set a certain amount of time you want to write. Take that time and devote it to just writing. Don’t get up to get another cup of coffee. Don’t look at your e-mail. Just write. This time can be anywhere from half an hour to two hours, depending on your ability to sit still. Generally, start at half an hour, take ten minutes worth of break, and then keep on writing for another half an hour. You’re sure to get more done.
